Hello! from Emily

Writing has always been the way I expressed myself, and starting up a new blog after graduating from my beloved “Long Live the Twenties” was no surprise. I’m passionate about listening to people’s stories, engaging in reflective and philosophical musings, and creating content that resonates on a deeper level.

“Swinger of Birches” references Robert Frost’s poem Birches—a reflection of and longing for the freedom and simplicity of youth. That freedom to reflect and simply be in the midst of a chaotic world is what this blog is all about.

Here, you’ll find a mix of personal reflections, from my experiences and thoughts about life, travel, and culture, to my musings on quotes and poems. When I’m not blogging or working, you can find me traveling somewhere else in the world, writing for Booklist, Oregon Kid, and other publications, or rock climbing indoors and outdoors.

Thank you for being here. I hope these thoughts inspire, entertain, and maybe even spark a little something in you, too.
